Central Warehousing Corporation is a Government of India undertaking and provides warehousing facilities at various centres
throughout India. It holds 50% equity in 16 State Warehousing Corporations all over the country.
Operates over 482 warehouses across the
country with storage capacity of 9.3 million tonnes. It holds 50% equity
in 17 State Warehousing Corporations who are operating
2054 warehouses with a capacity of 30 million tonnes-Largest
warehousing agency under single management in the world.Also offers services
in the area of clearing & forwarding, handling &
transportation, procurement & distribution etc.
The concept of Warehouse Receipts to be used on the
commodity exchange for trading could easily be implemented
initially in the 482 warehouses of CWC. |

Agricultural Co Operative Marketing Federation of India Limited
(NAFED) |

NAFED is a National Apex body of Cooperative Marketing in the country
along with 27 State level
Marketing Federations, 16 State level Special commodity Marketing
Federations, 10 State level Tribal Co-operative Development
Corporations and 172 District and Regional Marketing Societies. NAFED undertakes internal trade covering a wide range of agricultural, horticultural, tribal and allied produce.
NAFED network covers almost all-primary and secondary markets.

Established in 1895 at Lahore, undivided India,
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has the distinction of being the first
bank to have been started solely with Indian capital. From its
modest beginning, the bank has grown in size and stature to become
a front-line banking institution in India at present. During its
existence of over one-hundred years, Punjab National Bank has
faced many a trials of strength including the trauma of partition
of India in 1947 at the time of independence. However, due to its
inherent strengths and resilience, the bank not only withstood
such adversities but established itself still firmly on the Indian
subcontinent. The bank was nationalised in July 1969 along with 13
other banks. The bank's strength lies in its corporate belief of
growth with stability.
With its presence in virtually in all the
important centres of the country, Punjab National Bank offers a
wide variety of banking services which include corporate and
personal banking, industrial finance, agricultural finance,
financing of trade and international banking. Among the clients of
the bank are multinational companies, Indian conglomerates, medium
and small industrial units, exporters and non-resident Indians.
The large presence and vast resource base have helped the bank to
build strong links with trade and industry.
At the same time, the bank has been conscious
of its social responsibilities by financing agriculture and allied
activities and small scale industries (SSI). Considering the
importance of small scale industries bank has established 16
specialised branches to finance exclusively such industries.
With its long tradition of sound banking and
in-depth knowledge of Indian economy, the bank has been able to
help its clients in their projects. Punjab National Bank is ranked
416 among the biggest banks in the world by Bankers' Almanac (July
2002) London.
Strong correspondent banking relationship which
Punjab National Bank maintains with 200 leading international
banks all over the world enhances its capabilities to handle
transactions world-wide. Besides, bank has Rupee Drawing
Arrangements with exchange companies in the Gulf. Bank is a member
of the SWIFT and 85 branches of the bank are connected through its
computer-based terminal at Bombay. With its state-of-art dealing
rooms and well-trained dealers, the bank offers efficient forex
dealing operations in India.
The bank has been focussing on expanding its
operations outside India and has identified some of the emerging
economies which offer large business potential. Bank has set up a
representative office at Almaty, Kazakhktan w.e.f. 23rd October
1998.
Keeping with its tradition of excellence in
customer service PNB has adopted a quality movement "Alliance with
Quality". Under this as many as 364 offices of the bank have been
awarded the coveted ISO 9002 certification. The bank is committed
to maintaining the highest standards of service and will be
